Et face à l’impossibilité d’en parler correctement sur Twitter dû aux limitations de caractères, j’ai décidé de dépoussiérer ce qui fut un temps une plateforme d’expression sur laquelle j’écrivais “régulièrement”. Pour de vrai, petit aparté avant de rentrer dans le coeur du sujet de cet article : J’ai énormément d’idées pour ce blog et le fait est que je passe plus de temps à avoir des idées qu’à les concrétiser. Si je réalisais ne serait-ce qu’un dixième de toutes les idées que j’ai, j’aurai du contenu pour plusieurs mois sans aucun soucis… Mais promis, je vais m’y mettre… (Combien de fois j’ai dit ça ?).

Je sais pas quoi vraiment dire de plus en fin de compte. Ubisoft c’était aussi Gameloft, aka du gros caca sans valeur créative. Ubisoft c’est le rachat de Ketchapp y’a quelques jours, un studio critiqué pour passer son temps à cloner des jeux de puzzle sur mobile et à les republier derrière. Expliquez moi c’est quoi la volonté derrière ce rachat en pleine période où les mecs tentent de faire valoir leur indépendance et leur créativité. J’suis perdu moi.
Je suis pas con non plus hein. J’ai vu Child of Light, j’ai vu Valiant Hearts, j’ai vu les anciens Rayman, mais c’est pas ça le coeur de l’entreprise Ubisoft. Le coeur de cette entreprise c’est The Division et son season pass, c’est The Crew et ses DLC, c’est Assassin’s Creed et ses patchs, c’est Far Cry et ses season pass/patchs/dlc, c’est… Vous l’avez compris. Remplacez The Division par Fifa, The Crew par Battlefield et Assassin’s Creed par Les Sims et oh, c’est Electronic Arts.

Je vous comprend hein, défenseurs d’Ubisoft et des frères Guillemot. J’ai des contacts dans ma TL qui y ont bossé (Bisous Margot :3), je comprend la crainte de passer de un bon jeu par an à zéro, je comprend les possibles répercussions sur les familles de développeurs que ça peut engendrer, mais moi j’en veux à Ubisoft de s’être voilés la face pour au final prendre à parti ses salariés/ses clients pour les défendre après, désolé mais je pense ne pas être trop loin de la vérité, les avoir traité comme toutes les entreprises du milieu le font, c-a-d pas très bien.

Tout ça pour dire que oui : Si un jour Vivendi se retrouve à avoir un droit de parole et de veto sur chaque décision créative, bah les quelques bons jeux qui sortaient des studios se feront encore plus rares. Pour le reste, vous en faites pas hein, Watch Dogs 3 sortira toujours, Far Cry 6 aussi, j’en passe des suites et des meilleures.
