Aaaaaah OlliOlli. Sorti fin Janvier sur Playstation Vita, l’indépendant Roll7 a fait patienter pas mal de possesseurs de la console avant de sortir son jeu. Devant l’engouement qu’a suscité la sortie de cet épisode et aussi devant le fait que je venais d’avoir la console et que du coup je n’avais pas de jeu, je me suis décidé à l’acheter et donc le télécharger “à l’instinct” en ayant simplement vu quelques screenshots avant la sortie. Aucune vidéo de gameplay, aucune précision, rien. Bref, j’y suis vraiment allé au feeling … Et bah je crois que c’est la dernière fois que je fais ça (Sauf pour Dokuro, Dokuro c’était cool.) Donc, en fait je pense pas m’étaler trop sur le jeu. Pour ceux qui ne prévoient pas d’y jouer, je vais faire simple; En gros, OlliOlli est un jeu de skate en 2D pixelisé avec un gameplay hyper technique et une grosse part de ranking. En fait, ces mecs ont développé un mix entre la licence Skate qui est extrêmement bien fait dans sa variété de tricks, les jeux Tony Hawk pour le côté complètement barré et arcade/gros scores, et ils ont saupoudré ce mix de cette mode présente un peu PARTOUT en ce moment dans les jeux indépendants qu’est le graphisme pixelisé. Bref, sur le papier, pour moi, c’était couru d’avance, ça allait être inintéressant pour qui aime un tant soit peu le skateboard, et même en y jouant j’ai vraiment trouvé que c’était de la merde, sauf qu’un seul truc fait que ça déboîte… Je vous explique ça plus tard, d’abord je vous parle du gameplay.
Donc le gameplay est tout simple : Tu ruines ton pouce à faire tourner ton joystick gauche n’importe comment (Ou précisément si tu sais quelles figures tu veux faire), tu abaisses le joystick gauche quand tu arrives sur une barre de fer pour glisser dessus, et t’appuies sur X au moment d’atterrir pour faire un atterrissage “parfait”. Grosso modo, le gameplay se base sur le timing du joueur pour “noter” les slides et les atterrissages. Il y a divers niveaux d’atterrissage et chacun permet d’empocher un pourcentage des points réalisés grâce à nos figures. Ca se présente comme ça :
- Bâclé : T’es grave nul donc ta figure vaut quasiment rien.
- Mauvais: T’es toujours nul mais comme t’as essayé d’atterrir correctement on te donne quelques points.
- Ok : Peut mieux faire.
- Efficace : Ca va, tu commences à prendre le coup, on est cool on te donne pas mal de points
- Parfait : Bah voila quand tu veux ! Allez, prend tout les points et en plus tu gagnes de la vitesse !
En gros, tout est une question de timing. Pour faire un maximum de points, il faut enchaîner les figures intéressantes et les replaquer correctement sur les slides et sur le sol. A savoir qu’un enchaînement de slides donne naissance à un combo qui – plus vous ferez de slides et de figures à la suite – multipliera vos points. Vous avez donc tout intérêt à varier vos figures en l’air et le type de vos grinds pour empocher un maximum de points. Concernant les figures et les grinds, il faut reconnaître que le répertoire est vraiment très complet. Tout les types de flips et de grinds y sont. Vous avez aussi la possibilité de combiner ces figures avec des spins qui sont des rotations.
Allez, maintenant on va voir comment ça se passe à l’écran. Sur le papier, tout ça a l’air vraiment cool, mais comment va se faire l’adaptation avec un support graphique en deux dimensions, qui plus est avec toutes ces informations à l’écran plus le décor. Et bah c’est la que le bât blesse, c’est d’la merde. OlliOlli est un putain de jeu d’épileptique. Entre les “Parfait” qui clignotent en vert, les “Efficace” en bleu, du rouge, du violet, le score qui augmente en haut à droite, la vitesse de défilement des décors, bref, c’est le bazar. D’un côté je me dis que ça pouvait que se passer de cette manière, de l’autre je comprend pas comment on peut pondre quelque chose d’aussi pétaradant que cet HUD qui serait vraiment à déconseiller aux épileptiques, cette interface est dangereuse les amis. On a pas moyen de comprendre tout à fait ce qu’on fait mais on le fait, les combos s’enchaînent et on progresse dans le niveau. Notez la transition pour parler des niveaux. Donc, on se retrouve avec 5 mondes différents et deux modes de jeux. Le premier mode de jeux classiques “Niveaux” vous demandera de passer les circuits un par un de niveau Amateur. Un circuit Amateur terminé vous donne le droit d’attaquer le niveau Amateur suivant. Ainsi de suite pendant 25 circuits (5 circuits par monde). Votre premier challenge sera de réussir à remplir les objectifs fixés dans chaque niveau Amateur au nombre de 5 par circuit pour débloquer la version “Pro” du circuit. Ces tracés Pro disposent eux aussi de 5 objectifs à remplir. Parallèlement à ce mode de jeu, on rencontre un mode “Spot” qui vous invite à réaliser le meilleur score sans toucher le sol jusqu’à la fin. Dans ce mode la, pas d’objectifs à remplir, juste l’intérêt d’améliorer son score et de prolonger un peu la durée de vie avec de nouveaux tracés. On se retrouve donc avec 100 tracés (50 Spots et 50 Niveaux) et 250 défis à remplir. Une fois les défis des 50 niveaux Amateur/Pro réalisés (Ce qui demande déjà pas mal d’entraînement), on débloque le mode “Extrême” qui exige au joueur de refaire tout les niveaux Pro et Amateur en ne faisant que des grinds et des atterrissages parfaits. Ça a l’air de rien comme ça mais croyez-moi, c’est vraiment prise de tête, surtout que j’ai l’impression que certains niveaux ne sont pas faits pour être parcourus à la vitesse accumulée tout au long du tracé…
Néanmoins, cette grosse difficulté est ce qui fait qu’actuellement je passe énormément de temps sur ce jeu. J’ai d’abord pris quelques soirées pour boucler les défis Amateur avant de m’attaquer aux défis Pro. Les derniers niveaux m’ont demandé pas mal d’acharnement mais ça a fini par passer. Actuellement j’ai bouclé tout les niveaux en Extrême sauf deux qui m’opposent une résistance vraiment frustrante. J’ai l’impression d’avoir essayé de les aborder sous tout les angles sans arriver à passer une certaine séquence du tracé, du coup j’abandonne un peu. Je vous avoue que je suis un peu dégoûté de ne pas pouvoir obtenir ce fichu trophée … Ça m’aurait permis d’en imposer d’entrée de jeu sur mon profil PSN ! Et bah tiens, en parlant de “qui c’est qu’a la plus grosse”, OlliOlli est une perle qui ravira les acharnés du ranking. En effet, à chaque fin de niveau, votre meilleur score est comparé à celui des autres joueurs dans le monde entier et vous permet de vous situer par rapport aux autres joueurs dans le but de – pourquoi pas – devenir le maître mondial sur un ou plusieurs niveaux du jeu. C’est donc tout pour le côté “social” du jeu.
Je vais essayer de passer vite fait sur les bugs intempestifs du jeu, notamment les redémarrages vraiment usants à la longue (Astuce : Mettez-vous en mode avion) et les quelques gamelles pas forcément compréhensibles quand on est derrière l’écran. Il est bon de rappeler que le jeu a un peu plus d’une semaine et que les développeurs promettent un patch. Je relancerai pas le débat sur les jeux qui sortent bugués mais je trouve ça un peu dommage. Donc je récapitule, OlliOlli se retrouve être un jeu de dingue, extrêmement addictif, avec une bande-son toute simple mais qui se laisse tout à fait écouter en jeu, un gameplay technique gâché par un parti pris graphique qui rend l’ensemble complètement pété et incompréhensible. En somme, le jeu est clairement destiné aux adeptes de ranking, mais c’est tout. En effet, j’ai volontairement décidé de passer à côté de son plus gros défaut qui rebutera beaucoup de consommateurs à se procurer le jeu : son prix. OlliOlli coûte 10€. Alors quand je vous dis que Dokuro 3€ c’est bon vous pouvez en manger, OlliOlli pour 10€ je trouve que c’est la plus grosse arnaque du siècle. Pour un joueur lambda qui ne se soucie pas de ses scores et cherche juste à remplir les défis, la rejouabilité est quasi nulle et il aura bouclé ça en deux ou trois soirées de petites sessions de 2-3h grand maximum. Quand au mode Extrême, il m’a fallu peut-être trois heures pour finir les 48 niveaux (Sur 50) que l’on peut faire dans cette difficulté. Bref, en gros, je trouve que c’est vraiment cher payé pour les réelles capacités du titre qui ne joue sa durée de vie que sur la volonté du joueur à améliorer ses temps.
