[Une licence, une bande-son] Assassin’s Creed OST

 

Pour les personnes qui me suivent sur Twitter, vous aurez pu assister à l’enchantement qui a suivi ma redécouverte de l’OST d’Assassin’s Creed. Cette pauvre licence, actuellement controversée par les joueurs pour son caractère ultra-commercial commence à empiler les défauts, mais s’il y a un point sur lequel tout le monde est d’accord, c’est que sa bande-son est une mélopée enivrante qui ravit les tympans de n’importe quel individu croisant ses douces sonorités.

Ce sont 4 compositeurs qui ont apporté leur contribution pour forger au gré des épisodes les mélodies qui ont accompagné nos aventures. Brian Tyler, Jesper Kyd, Lorne Balfe et Winifred Philips ont permis l’immersion la plus intense dans ce qui était à ses débuts, la simulation d’assassin la plus ambitieuse de cette génération. Le mix de deux des anciennes licences phares d’Ubisoft, Prince of Persia et Splinter Cell, ont inspiré Jesper Kyd et ses collègues à composer un thème d’une rare intensité, plongeant le joueur au coeur de son personnage et de son univers. Alors même si la qualité du jeu suivait de moins en moins au fil des opus, tout a toujours été fait du côté musical pour rendre cette licence la plus attractive possible.

Preuve de l’engouement qu’a suscité cette bande-son, le thème principal de la série, plus connu sous le nom d’ “Ezio’s Family” a inspiré la talentueuse cosplayeuse/violoniste Lindsey Stirling qui a produit en son honneur une reprise de cette mélodie dans une vidéo plus qu’épatante.

 

 

Je pense ne pas faire découvrir grand chose dans ce billet, mais au vu de l’ancienneté du dernier article posté, j’ai pensé qu’il était nécessaire de donner un petit signe de vie, histoire de signaler que j’existe encore ! J’ai plein de projets d’articles dans la tête, mais comme d’habitude, pas de temps pour concrétiser ces idées.

En parlant d’Assassin’s Creed, je vous invite à découvrir ou redécouvrir l’avis que j’ai porté sur le premier épisode, le second et sur Brotherhood. Autant le passage du 1 au 2 m’aura extasier, autant la suite aura fait l’effet d’une vraie désillusion.
